The Duality of Man

Literaly just a fish with legs in a top hat riding a unicycle.

The Duality of Man

Once upon a time

there was no crime

But that was just because there wasn't much of anything

the world was a barren husk

there was dawn, there was dusk

but there was no other single thing

for this earth had not yet given birth

There were no birds that sang

or fish that swam

Yet

For slowly and gradually

an eventuality

Plants began to grow

their seeds they did sow

for and wide

for the earth did provide

Eventually there was man

he was this hairless naked thing

of the world he knew, not a thing

But in that apish mind of his

there brewed a plan

and he knew this

All of this

could be his

Should be his

Sometimes He was greedy and cruel

using fear as a tool

He wanted to learn more about this world

but only to see how far His weapons could be hurled

He wanted power

He wanted the world to cower

And gaze on the terror He had made

weapons any other creature would have forbade

weapons that create huge plumes of smoke

That would make the earth choke.

Other times he was kind

he knows to be cruel is to be a fool

for kindness doesn't need any tool

Wanting to learn more

simply because of the beauty of this world

is something he simply can't ignore

he loves to sing and dance

he loves to paint on every surface he could find

giving the horrors of the world no mind

composing poems and novels that would make you weep

The difference is very steep

For this could hardly be seen as the same creature at a glance

Since his creation man has marveled at the stars

only recently did he come to know

that they are places he could go

Only time will tell

Would He arrive as a conqueror.

or and admirer
